Who Is Deloris Rabinowitz? |

Throughout her illustrious career, multi faceted, award-winning actress Deloris Rabinowitz has dazzled audiences and critics with her performances both on stage and off. Some of her favorite roles include Stupefying Jones in Lil’ Abner, Wrench in Starlight Express, Rose in Bye Bye Birdie, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Riff in West Side Story, Caroline in Caroline or Change, Young Cosette in Les Miserables, Ren in Footloose, Effie in Dreamgirls, Cassie in A Chorus Line and Skimbleshanks in Cats. She has won the Coral Springs People’s Choice Award for each and every one of her roles, but has yet to win the coveted Coraly Award. Deloris has won such prestigious awards as The Sunflower Seed Award For Excellence In Acting, The Broward County Amazing Educator Award, A $25.00 grant from The National Advancement For Jewish Artists (NAFJA), Madame Rifka’s School of Dance Triple Threat Award, The Lois Heller Memorial Sight Singing Award and The Outer Outer Outer Critics Circle Award For Operatic Performance. While Deloris is best known for her work at the Coral Springs Community Theatre, her career isn’t limited to Florida. She boasts an impressive list of out of town appearances ranging from benefits in Oklahoma to courtyard cabarets in Pennsylvania. She has even written, directed, produced, choreographed and starred in two original productions which premiered in New York City! She did everything for them (except the props which were done by her best friend Doris and the costumes which were done by her friend Patsy from down the street). Deloris currently resides in Coral Springs, Florida with her husband Harold. They have four goldfish and a parakeet named Peaches. When not performing, Deloris can be found directing the Coral Springs Community Theatre’s Rising Stars Program with the help of her two beautiful grandchildren Avram and Hadassah. |
